Job Description:
We are looking for an entry level Bitcoin Mining Operations Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Bitcoin mining facility. This will include monitoring and maintaining mining hardware and software, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing performance to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Setup
1.1Hardware Installation: Set up and install mining hardware such as ASIC miners, and other related components.
1.2Configuration: Configure mining hardware and software to ensure they are properly set up for efficient mining.
2. Maintenance
2.1 Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of mining hardware to identify and address potential issues.
2.2 Cleaning: Keep mining equipment clean and free of dust to prevent overheating and maintain efficiency.
2.3 Firmware Updates: Update firmware on mining equipment to the latest versions to ensure optimal performance and security.
3. Troubleshooting
3.1 Diagnose Problems: Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues that impact mining performance.
3.2 Repairs: Perform repairs on faulty hardware components, such as replacing defective parts （powers and fans etc）
4. Monitoring and Optimization
4.1 Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of mining hardware and software to ensure efficient operation.
4.2 Optimization: Adjust settings and configurations to optimize the performance and profitability of mining operations.
5. Networking and Connectivity
5.1 Network Setup: Assist in setting up and maintaining the network infrastructure for mining operations.
5.2 Connectivity Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues that affect the mining hardware's connection to the mining pool or network.
6. Cooling and Power Management
6.1 Cooling Systems: Monitor and maintain cooling systems to prevent overheating of mining hardware.
7. Documentation and Reporting
7.1Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, hardware configurations, and any issues encountered.
7.2Reporting: Provide regular reports on the status and performance of mining equipment to supervisors or management.
8. Safety and Compliance
8.1Safety Procedures: Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
8.2Compliance: Ensure that mining operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
9. Collaboration
9.1Team Coordination: Work closely with other team members, including network administrators, software engineers, and operations managers, to ensure smooth and efficient mining operations.
10. Continuous Learning
10.1Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in mining technology, hardware, and software to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a IT role, preferably in a IT troubleshooting environment
• Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
