Finance Analyst

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. This position supports budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis for a dynamic media company with diverse revenue streams. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical horsepower with an understanding of media industry economics and storytelling through numbers.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modeling & Forecasting

  • Build and maintain detailed three-statement financial models for business units (e.g., digital, linear).
  • Develop rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans in collaboration with department heads.

Revenue & Expense Analysis

  • Analyze monthly revenue performance by platform, channel, and campaign; identify variances vs. budget/prior year.
  • Track content production costs, talent deals, and distribution expenses; flag inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support pricing strategy for new client pitches

Business Partnering

  • Translate operational metrics into financial impact.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations for monthly operating reviews and board meetings.

Ad Hoc Projects

  • Ad hoc requests could include various reports/presentations for the executive team/board members such as scenario planning, sales analysis, ROI analysis

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting; media/entertainment experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, scenario managers)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools a plus (Power BI)
  • Solid understanding of media metrics and revenue models

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
