Title : Project Controls Analyst

Location : Naperville, IL

Hire Type: Embedded (Exempt)

Salary : $52.00 - $60.00/hour (depending on experience)

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Project Controls Analyst in Naperville, IL. This opportunity is with a leading utility organization supporting major energy projects.

Job Duties:

• Manage and monitor project budgets.
• Prepare estimates and budgets, and initiate and maintain cost forecasts.
• Review invoicing for adherence to contracts and project progress.
• Ensure effective cost management and financial oversight of construction-related projects.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in utility, construction, or energy industries (not project-focused).
• Strong background in cost management, cost estimating, and planning.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and materials.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and financial management abilities.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Schedule: Hybrid – In office Monday through Thursday, remote on Fridays.

Start Date: January 2026
