Job Title: Warehouse Receiver ( Union Position)

Pay Rate: $20-$21.62/hr (W2)

Schedule: Full-time, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime possible up to 3 additional hours as needed)

Location: Savage MD 20763

Duration: Contract role

Position Overview

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for coordinating product receiving activities and supporting public warehouse operations. This role ensures accurate verification, documentation, and movement of goods while maintaining effective communication with internal staff and management.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Warehouse Operations

  • Verify and count incoming merchandise with accuracy
  • Move products/materials to and from storage areas, docks, and delivery vehicles using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand
  • Monitor and oversee public warehouse receiving, reporting, and inventory verification
  • Assist with physical inventory and general warehouse maintenance as needed
  • Assemble materials when required

Administrative & Communication Tasks

  • Communicate with employees and stakeholders to answer questions, resolve issues, and confirm order receipt
  • Prepare, sort, copy, and file documentation related to warehouse activities and business transactions
  • Operate office equipment including photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, and voicemail systems
  • Use computers, email, Microsoft Office, and warehouse systems (JETS/JFC)

  • Prior receiving or warehouse experience preferred

  • Ability to use technology including mobile devices, computers, email, MS Office (Word & Excel)
  • Familiarity with warehouse systems and databases (e.g., JETS)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position requires:

  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Repetitive movement, bending, standing, sitting, reaching, and manual dexterity
  • Use of warehouse machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Working indoors in environmentally controlled settings
  • Accurate, detail-oriented performance
  • Working until daily tasks are fully completed (8+ hours as needed)
  • Interaction with various personnel, including potentially difficult or upset individuals
  • Meeting strict deadlines and handling competitive pressures
  • Responsibility for work outcomes and productivity
